14-17 April 2016: Cardigan to Aberaeron – Part 4
Aberporth to Gwbert: 8.5 miles (13.7km) +580m -567m (17 April 2016)
Once again we had a steep climb from the off but this time it was on a road that led to Parcllyn which is next to the MOD site where they test drones. The site is on a headland, so we had to walk straight across the southern edge and into Allt y Gwrddon, wooded valley that led to the coast. There were a few ups and downs including the one below but nothing of the severity we endured yesterday.
Eventually we arrived at the Mwnt and had lunch overlooking the sea.
The remainder of the walk was relatively straightforward but on the way we passed the sites of disused slate quarries.
Our only obstacle was as we approached Gwbert. The owner of the Farm Park is still refusing to allow access to “his” coast, so we had to detour around on farmland and finally a road that led down to the hotel.
