6-9 April 2017: Miniffordd to Pentowyn Dunes – Part 3
Criccieth to Pwllheli: 11.1 miles (17.8km) +94m -106m (7 April 2017)
I like it when we walk from the hotel because there is no pressure to get out by a particular time. However, we were out of the hotel at 9am and got to the coast path 10 minutes later.
We walked to the west end of the promenade and then onto the top of low cliffs. On the way we passed a house that was featured on the tv programme Grand Designs but we couldn’t see much of it because it was surrounded by a high fence.
The path continued along the top of the cliff to Afon Dwwfor. Unfortunately there is no bridge so the path turns inland to main road. We then had a 2 mile walk from Llanystumdwy (the birthplace of David Lloyd George) to Afon Wen, at which point we turned back to the coast.
It was then a mixture of grass and beach before arriving at Pwllheli and the bus back to Criccieth.
