This week we were due to continue our mainland Coast Path with fours days of walking the Llyn Peninsular staying at a hotel in Criccieth. However, driving up to north Wales on Thursday, Dorothy was ill and she spent Thursday night in Neville Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.
While all this was going on the rest of the party were on their way to Criccieth. Terry, who was leading Anglesey, agreed to take on the role of leader after I had emailed him all the maps and timetables for the walks. I’m not sure how they got on in our absence but I was told a few tales of getting lost, others thinking they knew better than the leader and atrocious weather. On the Saturday, Storm Brian hit north Wales and the day’s walk was postponed.
As a result we were now a walk down on where we should be as a group and at some time we would have to do a catch-up.
Dorothy made a full recovery.
